A Look Back: What Got Us Here
Earlier this year, we shared something raw and real:
The bot was breaking down. Systems were collapsing. And the game itself—A Township Tale—wasn’t offering much support for those trying to build amazing things on top of it.
For a while, it seemed like theCloak might fade quietly into the shadows.
But then something amazing happened.
A new developer stepped in and helped rebuild the bot—this time in Python, using the py-tale library. It was a fresh start. The old rust was replaced. The code stabilized. And the result?
The bot has now run smoothly for nearly two months.
No crashes. No critical bugs. Just quiet, reliable magic.
Why This Event?
Because we’ve fixed the foundations. Now we need to test what really matters: how well theCloak handles real players, real pressure, and real community energy.
We’ve seen some strange things happening with prayers—quirks we can’t replicate alone. We need Townies, on as many servers as possible, to jump in and explore.
This isn’t just a test of features. It’s a celebration of how far we’ve come—and a check-in with the players who made all of this worth it.

Let’s be honest. It hasn’t always been easy. Development takes time. The game doesn’t always change or grow the way we hoped. And sometimes it feels like the spark is fading.
But we’re still here. You’re still here. And that means something.

📍 Where: Play on any server with theCloak bot installed
💬 Live feedback will be gathered only on theCloak server during the event
